Abbie Cornish, born on August 7, 1982, in Lochinvar, New South Wales, is an Australian actress and musician known for her versatility and dedication to her craft. Growing up on a large farm as the second of five siblings, she developed a love for films early on. She began her career as a model at 13 after making it to the finals of a Dolly Magazine competition. Her breakthrough came in 1999 when she won the Australian Film Institute Young Actor's Award for her role in the TV series Wildside.
Cornish transitioned to film with The Monkey’s Mask and gained widespread acclaim for Somersault (2004), which earned her multiple awards. She continued to impress audiences with powerful performances in Candy (2006) alongside Heath Ledger, A Good Year (2006), Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007), and Stop-Loss (2008).
