Breathing Innovation: Aadhya Airtek Moves India Forward

In a world where industrial cooling was once synonymous with noise, cost and compromise, Aadhya Airtek charted a quiet revolution, one that didn’t just move air but reshaped the way India builds, breathes and thinks about sustainability and design.

Mr. Mahesh T S

The inception of Aadhya Airtek is a story that begins not with corporate capital or Silicon Valley bravado but with curiosity and conviction. Back in 2017-18, during her doctoral research and travels abroad for international paper presentations, D R Sree Latha, better known as Lata Vasisht, re-noticed huge, whisper‑quiet industrial fans in action, machines that seemed almost poetic in their capacity to transform large spaces without the roar of traditional equipment. It was the same product that she and her husband were already introduced to, by an acquaintance, they had already researched and had given up due to the products’ expensive nature.  Intrigued, she returned to India and after her initial brief stint with the fans, her mind was filled with questions most would overlook; Why can’t this be done better here? Why does this innovation seem inaccessible to Indian industries?

Lata had already spent more than two decades in corporate and academic leadership with an MBA, M Phil and with her research background that equipped her to see beyond the obvious. Her husband, Mahesh T S, brought over 30 years of practical experience across electrical, mechanical and industrial services, a grounding influence rooted in tangible problem‑solving rather than abstract theories. Together, they formed a distinctive partnership. Hers was strategic curiosity and his was hands‑on execution.

From Curiosity to Creation

Their journey into industrial fan manufacturing started with obstacles. Conventional HVLS (High Volume Low Speed) fans were expensive, heavy and engineered for markets with high ceilings and deep pockets. For India’s MSME sector, such solutions were often impractical due to cost and installation limitations. Sensing untapped potential, the duo resolved to build something that India didn’t just import but owned and improved.

After nearly two and a half years of deliberate research and development, the duo launched Aadhya Airtek in Bengaluru in 2020, under Make in India initiative, with the mission of democratising advanced airflow technology, not as a luxury but as a practical, energy‑efficient tool for every big space, from warehouses to industrial plants, from convention halls to meditation centres and from restaurants and resorts to public transit terminals.

Engineering Air with Empathy

Aadhya Airtek’s approach to design is deceptively simple. It asks what industry needs most and strips everything else away. Central to this philosophy Aadhya’s signature blade design initially embraced a patented Take‑Push‑Throw concept. This engineering innovation aligned the blade’s front to draw air in, its midsection to push it and the trailing edge to throw it across a space. The result was broader coverage, smoother airflow and significantly reduced energy consumption compared to heavier, traditional HVLS fans. Today, Aadhya boasts the extruded version of the same design.

Rather than relying solely on powerful motors and brute force, the team focused on efficiency by design. Aadhya’s fans are lightweight that ranges from about 18 kgs to 108 kgs depending on size, enabling installation in facilities with roof heights as low as 10 feet, a substantial departure from the 15 feet or higher ceilings other models demanded. By cutting weight and improving design, the initial torque requirement drops, leading to lower energy use and faster return on investment for clients.

It’s not just about comfort; it’s about saving costs, says Lata.  Aadhya’s R&D motto has been environment, energy and economy and it has yielded induction motor-based fans that can deliver up to 85% operational cost savings and allow many customers to recoup their investment within a year. These fans operate with 35 dB of noise, and gearless versions with PMS and BLDC motors are silent, offering 92-95% percent operational cost savings, transforming large spaces with a peaceful hum rather than industrial cacophony.

Expansion and Diversification

Starting its operations in 2020 with limited focus on the Karnataka market, the company gradually expanded to Southern parts of the country and now is spreading its wings Pan India within 5 years.

In 2025, Aadhya diversified into the motor division, now manufacturing in-house PMS and BLDC Motors, a strategic and logical vertical integration move, to control the supply chain, reduce costs and leverage its existing industry knowledge.

Aadhya is now all set to further diversify and roll out VFDs, Mobile Fans, Industrial Exhaust Fans and Pole Mount HVLS Fans, providing a testament to its strong R&D, the innovation engine that drives business value and future viability.

Whispers That Move the World

In just a few short years, Aadhya Airtek’s innovation and customer‑centric approach have reshaped expectations.  This growth has not gone unnoticed. In 2023, Aadhya Airtek was named among the Top 10 Industrial Fan Manufacturers in India by Industry Outlook, an accolade that highlights its rising prominence in a competitive engineering landscape. In 2024, the brand received the Economic Times Achievers Award for Excellence in Manufacturing HVLS Fans, recognising both its technological excellence and its customer‑first ethos. In 202,5 Aadhya has been recognised by both Times Business and Outlook Business as Innovative Leaders in HVLS Fan Manufacturing category, adding 2 more awards to its expanding trophy cabinet.

These recognitions are not simply decorative, they reflect a company that listens to its customers, tailors solutions through site assessments and customer engagements, and delivers outcomes that combine practicality with performance. Aadhya’s approach isn’t transactional, it’s relational, investing in long‑term success for users rather than short‑term sales.

Leadership in Motion

The company’s founders have also become significant voices in the industry. Lata’s leadership has drawn attention not only for driving innovation but for breaking stereotypes in a field traditionally dominated by men. Recognised for her entrepreneurial spirit, she brings to Aadhya a philosophy rooted in explore, experience and evolve, a mantra that guides product design and organisational culture alike.

Mahesh’s perspective adds a grounded layer to this transformative culture. The duo’s belief that culture is the heart of business underscores Aadhya’s internal ethos, one where technical excellence is inseparable from genuine relationships with clients, suppliers and employees. Together, their leadership has nurtured a team that doesn’t just understand airflow mechanics but appreciates the lived realities of the spaces their fans serve.

Air in Motion, Minds in Action

The company is signalling readiness to compete on a global stage with products that blend efficiency with accessibility. These developments reflect a broader vision, not just to improve airflow in individual facilities but to shape how emerging economies understand and implement sustainable industrial solutions.

This global aspiration aligns with the company’s core mission to be recognised not just as a reliable Indian manufacturer but as a global green air solutions provider who offers technology that emphasises energy savings, comfort and environmental stewardship in equal measure.

At its heart, Aadhya Airtek represents a rare blend of deep engineering thought and empathetic design. Its fans don’t just move air; they change how people experience space, bringing cool relief to workers on factory floors, enhancing comfort in public venues, and helping businesses reduce energy costs without compromising performance. In doing so, the company has transformed a previously overlooked piece of industrial hardware into a symbol of Indian innovation with global relevance.

Aadhya Airtek’s journey encapsulates what is possible when purpose, persistence and technical excellence converge. In an era where sustainability matters as much as productivity, Aadhya stands not just as a manufacturer of fans but as a pioneer of smarter airflow for a changing world.
