It removed the “biggest hurdle” to J&K’s development. Since 2019, J&K has seen a 70% reduction in terrorism, a surge in tourism to 2 crore visitors annually. Projects like the Sela Tunnel (Arunachal Pradesh), the India–Myanmar–Thailand Highway, upgraded rail links to all Northeastern capitals, and deployment of over 2,600 mobile towers and 13,000 km of optical fiber have integrated remote areas into India’s growth story. Bharatmala Pariyojana and dedicated freight corridors link eastern India, boosting industrial growth, creating jobs, and advancing balanced regional development.

From GST unifying markets to IBC strengthening credit discipline to UPI revolutionising payments to One Nation, One Ration Card (ONORC) making welfare seamless, the last decade has been about systemic clean-ups that cut red tape and built a digitally driven, integrated, future-ready India.

The GST revenues have nearly tripled in eight years. Post-GST, interstate transport time dropped by a third as trucks no longer queued at multiple checkpoints. Through the GST Compensation Fund, the central government guaranteed revenue shortfall compensation for five years to all states, ensuring poorer and smaller states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha received predictable, stable funds for development.
