WhiteOak Capital Asset Management Company (AMC) on January 17, 2023 launched WhiteOak Capital Balanced Advantage Fund. The new fund offer (NFO) will open on January 20, 2023 and close on February 3, 2023.

This is an open-ended dynamic asset allocation fund that will invest in a mix of equities (65-100 per cent), arbitrage (0-50 per cent), and debt/cash in the range of 0-35 per cent with weight of net equities in the range of 30-80 per cent.

WhiteOak Capital said in a press release that the performance of this NFO is benchmarked against the BSE Sensex TRI.

The portfolio will be managed in accordance with the stated investment objective, investment strategy, and asset allocation in the scheme information document (SID) and will be subject to changes within provision of the SID of the scheme, the statement said.

According to WhiteOak Capital, the scheme aims to remove the psychological barrier for investors by deploying a proprietary market valuation index to decide net equity levels.

It will allocate higher into equities when the equity market valuations are low, and lower when the equity market valuations are high. Thus, the strategy will aim to safeguard the portfolio from overall market volatility, while retaining the potential for generating higher returns, it said.

According to the statement, the proprietary model will provide broad guidance regarding the relative valuation levels and scope of the asset allocation opportunities in the market.

“The scheme will deliver better investing experience over a full market cycle by reducing the downside during a falling market, providing reasonable participation in a rising market, providing tax-efficient gains along with a stable investment option under various market conditions,” the release added.

According to WhiteOak AMC, the scheme is suitable for those investors who are seeking capital appreciation and income generation over the medium-to-long term, and want to invest in a dynamically-managed portfolio of equity and equity-related instruments of debt and money market securities.

Aashish Somaiyaa, CEO, WhiteOak Capital Mutual Fund said in the statement: “Our latest offering is aimed at providing a full-fledged suite of mutual fund products to our investors. The Balanced Advantage Fund will help investors to safeguard their portfolio from volatility and will provide diversification for investors with exposure to large-, mid- or thematic equity funds.”

Prateek Pant, chief business officer, WhiteOak Capital Mutual Fund said in the statement, “Our latest fund will provide an asset allocation solution for investors to take benefit of market volatility.”
