US Open 2018: Serena Williams Sets Up Final Date With Naomi Osaka

A win over Osaka will help Williams equal Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

Six-time US Open champion Serena Williams gets another shot at winning her first Greand Slam title since giving birth after defeating Anastasija Sevastova in their women's singles semi-final match early Friday morning.

Williams, 36, beat the 19th seed Latvian in straight sets 6-3 6-0 in 66 minutes. She will play Japan's Naomi Osaka in Sunday's final at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

A win over the 20th seed will help Williams equal Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles. She lost to Angelique Kerber in the Wimbledon final in July.

In the other semi-final, Osaka beat 2017 runner-up Madison Keys in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to enter her maiden Grand Slam final. The 20-year-old is part of a history making Japanese double, along with Kei Nishikori who made the last four in men's singles.

She is the first Japanese woman to reach the final of a Grand Slam event.
