Tour De France 2022: Fabio Jakobsen Wins Stage 2 In Denmark - In Pics

Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl sprinter Fabio Jakobsen won stage two of the Tour de France 2022 in France on Saturday. The Dutch rider overtook Jumbo–Visma's Wout van Aert right on the line for his first stage win on his debut. Van Aert however took the yellow jersey. The win vindicated Alpha Vinyl's decision to select the 25-year-old ahead of veteran Mark Cavendish and also the youngster's will. In 2022, Jakobsen survived a crash during the Tour of Poland and was put into an induced coma after five hours of surgery on his skull and face. Two-time defending champion Tadej Pogacar was third overall.
