In the Group B clash of England Vs Iran, Gareth Southgate’s men humiliated Iran with a rioting performance at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. England are hoping to end their 56 year World Cup drought and started things in fashion against Carlos Quiroz’s men. It took England 35 minutes to find the first goal, as Jude Bellingham dispatched Luke Shaw’s cross in the back of the net. Bukayo Saka scored in the 43rd minute. Kieran Trippier picks Harry Maguire from a corner who nods it for Saka who then volleys it in top corner. Just before the half time, England tripled their lead through Raheem Sterling, as Harry Kane registered an assist. Saka scored again in the 62nd minute after which Iran got one back but it was a little too late for a fight back. Substitute Marcus Rashford scored the fifth goal and Jack Grealish made it six in the 90th minute, scoring a simple tap in from an unselfish pass from Callum Wilson. Iran scored the second goal of the night in the stoppage time, scoring through a penalty as Mehdi Taremi slotted the ball calmly in the bottom right corner.
