Luiz Felipe Scolari's Athletico entered the match with a 1-0 lead from the first leg. In another semi-final, Brazil's Flamengo have won the first leg against Argentina's Velez Sarsfield 4-0. The second leg is scheduled for September 7 (local time) at Maracana, Rio de Janeiro.
