B
ombay partymongers might need to do a double-think before accusing Delhi of a dull nightlife. The capital can now boast of having its very own Hard Rock Cafe. Unlike its Bombay counterpart, however, the Delhi HRC does not give its customers ample breathing and drunken hand-wielding space. You are promised the usual frills—dim gothic lighting, a Tina Turner wig on display. The affable staff even break into a jig when the speakers blare out ymca, but the inevitable how-deep-are-my-pockets question might need some answering.

To start with, you would be forced to shell out Rs 250 as entry fee if a live band is performing. If you want to go beyond the usual Kingfisher fare, the cocktails come at a premium. If the wallet allows, sample the Triple Platinum Margarita (Rs 425), the Appletini (Rs 345) or their adequately strong Long Beach Iced Tea (Rs 345). If peckish, order a plate of cheesy nachos (Rs 425). Stay away from the frightfully priced burgers (Rs 375) and find the neighbourhood McDonald’s instead. Finally, don’t be fooled by the name. The establishment believes in the tried and tested Indian party policy—when a little quiet, give the people what they want. Bryan Adams!
