High moral tenets
Resolve and perseverance
Social responsibility
Courage to defend the vulnerable and uphold justice
Inspired others to act for good or acted as role model
Who spoke out to bring about positive change.

Evaluation Method
Outlook journalists screened thousands of entries sent by readers and chose a few hundred nominations. Theshortlist was then given to an eminent jury:

Kuldeep Nayar
M S Gill
Vinod Mehta
