Is it accident or by design that a macabre campus drama enacted in 2016 just before the five state elections is being replayed now, in the midst of another round of elections? It is also possible that we may not hear about it after 11 March as it happened last year after the assembly polls were over. It is neither about the freedom of expression nor about academic debate in university campuses. As in 2016, nobody knows what the real provocation was.
