No Home Food Or 'A' Class Facilities For Sasikala In Jail

They would be treated as "B"-class prisoners as they were convicted for economic offence and not violence.

In a replay of October 2014 when she accompanied 'Amma'to the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on the outskirts of the Bengaluru City, Sasikala surrendered on Wednesday towards the evening amidst tight security--only to be surprised by the spring of protesters raising slogans against her.

According to reports, in commotion after Sasikala's arrival, four cars in her cavalcade were vandalized, police said.

Sasikala and her relative Elavarasi would share a small cell in women's block in the jail, DG Sathyanaraya Rao said to PTI.

Despite Sasikala's lawyers repeated requests, judge Narayana refused to allow her two weeks to surrender, "A"-class facilities and home cooked food. The "A"-class facility, usually accorded to VIPs, would have meant Sasikala would be in a better cell with a fan, a bed, newspapers and a TV set. Home-cooked food would be a possibility too.

Prison sources told The Telegraph that they would be treated as "B"-class prisoners as they were convicted for economic offence and not violence.
