PM Modi Shares Sadhguru's Video Supporting CAA, NRC

Sadhguru said in the video that the law was "too little compassion, coming too late."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday shared a video of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev on Twitter and said that the spiritual leader "brilliantly highlights" a culture of brotherhood and also calls out the misinformation by vested interest groups.

"Do hear this lucid explanation of aspects relating to CAA and more by @SadhguruJV. He provides historical context, brilliantly highlights our culture of brotherhood. He also calls out the misinformation by vested interest groups. #IndiaSupportsCAA," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

Amid widespread protests, Sadhguru lent his support to the law and said it was "too little compassion, coming too late."

He defended the bill after narrating stories of Hindus being persecuted in Pakistan.

"This Bill is only focused on religious persecution. Looking at the reactions on the street, the vehemence with which people are fighting, I was wondering did I miss something," he said while mentioning that he had not studied the law properly.

He also said the government was caught "napping".

"They did not expect such a big reaction on such a small issue. So they did not put enough police on the streets. So, police got really trashed badly, in most places, brutally," he said.
