As cases of the omicron variant of the coronavirus popped up in countries on opposite sides of the world Sunday, many governments have rushed to close their borders. While scientists cautioned that it's not clear if the new variant is more alarming than other versions of the virus, the emergence of the new strain, which was first reported in South Africa, has also the Indian government scrambling and reviewing its travel plans. The decision to resume international travel from December 15 is also set for review.
