PM Narendra Modi Attacks 'Mahamilavati' Opposition, Says Terrorists Waiting For Weak Govt In Delhi To Strike

Launching a scathing attack on the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday cautioned the people against voting for the "mahamilawati" (hodgepodge) alliance and said that terrorists were "waiting" for a weak government to come to power at the Centre in order to strike.

"The terrorists are waiting for a weak government to come to power at the Centre to once more strike the nation," Modi said, and added that it was only the BJP-led NDA that had kept terror strikes at bay.

"My first priority is national security," Modi thundered amid the blowing of conches in the background at a rally in Ayodhya.

He said that his government has worked to check terrorism which had emerged as the biggest threat to the nation. "We have given a strong message that this is 'Naya Hindustan jo chhedega nahin magar chhodega bhi nahin. Hum bhi ghus ke marenge. (We have created a new India, that does not mess with others, but will not spare if messed with.)

"We will not think twice when attacked, be it at home or the frontier, to enter into the opponent's turf to eliminate the terrorists," he said, adding "We have controlled terror activities but not eradicated completely."

He reminded the crowd of the Hindi saying, "Savdhani hati, durghatna ghati" (if you let down your guard then accidents happen), and urged them to vote for the BJP, which alone can safeguard the country.

Modi told the people gathered at the Ambedkar Nagar rally that they should allow the spirit of the dead soldiers to help them choose the right candidate.

Modi said the  opposition parties were more interested in grabbing power than in strengthening the country.

The Prime Minister slammed the SP and BSP for claiming to be followers of Lohia and Ambedkar but demolished the ideologies of these leaders.

"Be it SP,  BSP or Congress, it's necessary to know their reality. Behen ji (Mayawati) used the name of Babasaheb Ambedkar but she did everything just the opposite of his principles. SP used the name of Lohia ji but they destroyed the law and situation in UP,"  he said.

"These parties should have been concerned about labourers but did they do anything? The Congress talks about removing poverty but has it done anything to remove poverty?" he asked.

The Prime Minister said that a strong government was needed at the Centre to make the country stronger.

He also listed the various welfare schemes initiated by his government for the poor and asked people to vote for the BJP symbol of lotus "which was a vote for Modi".
