Since September 11, I have beenspeaking freely in the United States, a nation whose institutions have many democratic features. My freespeech, which has been harshly critical of the leaders of the United States and their policies, has beendisseminated widely through print publications, web sites, email, radio, and television. Most of the exposurehas been in the alternative media, but I also have appeared in a few mainstream channels as well.Extrapolating from the approximately 4,000 email messages, letters, and phone calls I received in the threemonths after September 11 as a result of this free speech, it is reasonable to assume that tens of thousands,if not hundreds of thousands, of people heard my ideas.
