Adding to the list of latest frenzies on Twitter, billionaire and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has a new update for all his fans and followers. Taking to Twitter, the Chief Twit has asked a question to Twitterati that has to do with Musk’s future as the new boss of the social media platform.

In a poll-bound tweet, Elon Musk asked Twitterati if he should step down as the Twitter boss. He wrote, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.”

Elon Musk’s viral tweet with the poll has so far managed to receive over 143.9K retweets and over 206.4K likes. The poll results, while close, have also show a heavier vote to ‘YES’, instead of a ‘NO.’ This means that a relative majority chose Musk stepping down as Twitter head.

While the billionaire has not commented further on this poll, in an additional tweet, he wrote, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.”

Soon after Elon Musk put out this tweet, many speculated the possible reasons of having this out there. A verified account Wall Street Silver also went on to write, “Yep, he already has the new CEO picked out. Elon will retire to being Chairman of the Board and Tweeter.”

Interestingly, the Chief Twit also graced this comment with a reply that said, “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor.”

While Musk’s latest tweets and successive replies have raised some questions on the future of the social media platform, many people have also refuted these actions and thought of them as merely for publicity.
