After Twitter logo changed to the infamous Doge meme, billionaire Elon Musk may have played his tricks with the social media platform’s name as well. Hours after ‘Titter,’ the name of Twitter’s headquarters building goes viral; here is how the SpaceX and Tesla CEO has reacted.
In an official Twitter post, Elon Musk has defended the action of covering the ‘w’ of ‘Twitter’ by calling it ‘background colour.’ A move that has left many questioning whether the name of company HQs is now ‘Titter’ or not, has also left many in splits.
Musk tweets, “Our landlord at SF HQ says we’re legally required to keep sign as Twitter & cannot remove “w”, so we painted it background color. Problem solved!”
For those not familiar with what happened, recently, Twitterati noticed that the ‘Twitter’ sign outside its headquarters’ building seems to have missing a ‘w.’ As soon as this went viral, people started wondering if Elon Musk has now changed Twitter’s name to Titter. Several memes and reactions also flooded the social media platform around this time.
Now, putting all the speculations to rest, Elon Musk has tweeted his response saying that the ‘w’ has been coloured similar to the background. However, whether Twitter HQs are now Titter or not, is still unclear.
Several Twitter users also reacted to Musk’s post saying different things. One user wrote, “Referring to the paint of the sign as “background color” like it’s CSS 😂.” Another wrote, “Titter is better.”
This news comes days after Elon Musk changed Twitter’s logo to the Doge meme from the cryptocurrency ‘Dogecoin.’ While the logo was just changed on the web version of the social media platform, it has now been revoked and the old blue bird of Twitter is back.
