Sunburn Announces Special Recap of its Finest Musical Moments

Called Sunburn Rewind, the online event is a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief projects across India and has five one-hour episodes

Everyone's been waiting for the final word on the status of Sunburn this year. Well, everyone will have to wait a little more. But in the meantime, you can watch 5 finest hours of the wildly popular EDM festival's history this July&mdashDon Diablo, DJ Snake, Yellow Claw, Dimitri Vegas Kshmr, Vini Vici, Nucleya and 13 others will arrive at a screen close to you that of your TV/laptop.

A little while ago, we told you about the current status of all the global events that you are looking forward to. With the pandemic entering a second year and subsequent waves sweeping different parts of the world, there has been lack of clarity on whether mass gatherings can be safely brought back. In the interim, while a lot of organising bodies have either cancelled events for a second straight year&mdashsome have gone in with a hybrid format.

In India, film festivals, classical dance and music recitals and other public events have taken place virtually. Special retrospectives and lead-up events, too, have been introduced to keep the buzz and keep the fervour alive. Percept Live, creators of South Asia's biggest EDM festival, Sunburn, have announced a specially curated, 5-hour show on the biggest musical moments from the festival's history&mdashSunburn Rewind Best of Sunburn.

This online event, to be streamed via BookMyShow starting June 19, is a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief projects across India, and the proceeds will directly go towards the latter via GiveIndia. This gives attendees the chance to plug into some really first-grade EDM beats and at the same time do their bit for those affected by the pandemic. Viewers can donate different amounts (in set denominations) which will be utilised to sponsor meals, weekly rations, oximeters, refilling of oxygen cylinders and even provide cash support to those who have lost family members to COVID-19.

The said 5 hours will be dished out during the course of 5 episodes, with MC Noizee as the host. Sunburn Rewind offers some of the most wholesome moments in the history of the festival, which started out a 3-day event in Goa in the year 2007 and has since garnered enough acclaim and footfall to be mentioned in the same breath as the Tomorrowland (which also went virtual last year) Ultra Miami festivals. The festival has also successfully debuted at international venues such as Colombo, Melbourne and Dubai.

Last year, the organisers had unveiled the Sunburn Home Festival, a virtual two-day mega music festival with the biggest global music artists, Vini Vici, MATTN, Bassjackers and Ummet Ozcan, After Hours and a whole host of exciting virtual entertainment experiences

"Over the years we have received so much love and support from our fans everywhere, and this is our small way of paying forward to society. We have a fabulous Sunburn Rewind experience planned for our fans, and their love, support and donations will go a long way in collectively fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in India," shares Karan Singh, CEO, Percept Live.

The organisers aim to hold the next edition of the festival on-ground in December 2021 given that vaccination and other measures allow safe unlocks and travel.

To attend the event and donate to the fundraiser, visit https://bit.ly/SunburnRewind and wait for your unique login ID to arrive. The special showcase will kick off on June 19 and the link will allow viewers to watch the show over a period of 30 days.
