Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MCAY) is trying to bring positive measures to beat pandemic stress among students with their “Sarva Mangal Yoga Series.” The series will begin on June 1 and go on till June 5.  Students from all around the world will be able to join this series virtually after registration.

This unique series has been inaugurated live on SPIC MACAY’s social media platforms on May 31. The series workshop will incorporate yoga, meditation, music, dance and art. The programme will begin every day at 4am and will end at noon, and great gurus will teach the students in their respective fields. Students will be able to learn and practice during the sessions.

Daily at 4am,the 'Yoga Shivir' will begin where Padmashri Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar will start the workshop with Naad Yoga. Following this, an eminent guru from the Bihar Yoga School will proceed with the session on Hatha Yoga. After this, the Director of Tibet House Geshe Dorji Damdul will proceed with meditation.

After this, every day from 9am to noon, ten different workshops are organised. Several masters from the respective art forms will take over these workshop sessions. These workshops include Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniattam, Mural Painting, Pichwai Painting, Gond Art, Calligraphy, Carnatic and Hindustani Music. Renowned and prominent artists like Gayathri Girish, Qamar Dagar, KR Babu, Kalyanmal Sahu, Garreba Sing Terkam, Bhuvanesh Komkali, Ruchira Kedar, Parshwanath Upadhyay, Saji Menon will conduct these workshops.

This workshop is being organised on the 125th Anniversary of Mysore T. Chowdaiah, the 100th Anniversary of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and the Diamond Jubilee of IIT Delhi. SPIC MACAY organises this event in collaboration with SRF Foundation. The registrations for the event are open on the SPIC MCAY website here.
