Travelling for leisure may have been on hold for a while but the spirit of travellers remains undeterred. Some travellers have also been missing the whole experience of flying, from entering the airport to de-boarding. So much so that one airline has decided to start a special trip for these people.

One of the biggest carriers in Taiwan, EVA Air, has come up with a novel idea of a flight that will take passengers on a trip to nowhere. Aimed at those suffering from the travel itch, the flight is being offered on August 8 (Father&rsquos Day in Taiwan). It will take off from Taipei Taoyuan Airport, circle the skies and come back to the same airport. The whole trip will take approximately three hours.

Passengers will be flying on the EVA Air's popular Hello Kitty Dream jet. This A330 airplane bears the airline&rsquos special Sanrio-themed livery and features popular characters such as Hello Kitty, and Little Twin Stars&rsquo Kiki and Lala.

The flight will offer themed amenities, WiFi services, an inflight entertainment system, and even meals on board. Created by three-Michelin-star chef Motokazu Nakamura, passengers can choose from&nbspchirashi don (assorted sashimi over rice) and a classic braised beef noodle dish. It will depart at 1030 am on Saturday with the economy class ticket  priced at TWD5,288 (approx Rs 13,500). Passengers can choose to upgrade their seats to business class for an additional TWD1,000 (approx RS 2,550). That's quite a pricey meal, we must say

The flight has been named 5288, because when spoken, it sounds like "I love dad" in Chinese.

Earlier, in July, Taiwan was offering a check-in and boarding experience at a grounded plane at Songshan airport.
