Providing the service of more than 20000 trains every day, Indian Railways is one of the world’s busiest rail networks. To ensure a hassle free booking experience for the citizens, the IRCTC has come up with ten amendments in the ticketing process. Keep a note on the new regulations regarding time constraints, refunds and online booking.

These are the ten things you need to remember before making the reservations:

  1. Number of tickets that can be booked from one user id has been limited to 6 per month but you can extend the limit to 12 if your Aadhar has been verified.
  2. You can book a maximum of 2 tickets while the advance booking ticket window is open from 8am to 10pm.
  3. Apart from the CAPTCHA, new questions would be asked such as mobile number, e-mail id etc in order to increase the security measures of online transactions.
  4. Only one active login at a time from a particular id and won’t be allowed to login with different tab.
  5. You will not be able to access the quick booking facility from 8am to 12pm.
  6. Be quick while filling up the details because only 25 seconds would be provided for you to do so, irrespective of the number of passengers.
  7. The payment should be conducted within 10 seconds.
  8. There will be no refund for confirmed Tatkal tickets but refund would be considered if there is any drawback from the railway’s end.
  9. The refund will be made only after deducting the clerkage amount from the fare.
  10. Registration of the Aadhar card is compulsory for every ticketing agent and they are not allowed to book tickets from 8am to 8:30am, 10am to 10:30am and 11am to 11:30am.

Earlier, people faced problems with online transactions due to the site’s slow response and these alterations in the ticketing system were brought to ensure safe and effortless booking scenario for everyone.
