As part of its Autumn/Winter campaign, Germany has kicked off the 'Feel Good' initiative, which encompasses many tips highlighting the country's eco-friendly ambitions. The endeavour provides conscious travellers with adequate tools and information on reducing their carbon footprint while touring different regions.

If you also plan to travel consciously and the 'Feel Good' initiative has piqued your interest, here's all you need to know about it.

About the Initiative
The 'Feel Good' campaign will include a variety of travel advice that will emphasise the nation's environmental initiatives and provide conscious tourists with the necessary tools and knowledge to lessen their carbon footprint while visiting various regions.

Why
According to the GNTO's (German National Tourist Office) press release, the campaign is one of the many steps the German National Tourism Board has made to help the country reach the German Environment Agency's targets of a 65 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and complete carbon neutrality by 2045.

What Is Being Planned
As part of the programme, states and municipalities showcase their transportation options, instances of green architecture, and expansive parks, all of which guarantee an exciting city break that can be enjoyed in an environmentally responsible manner.

Winterberg in North Rhine-Westphalia has a sustainable guest management system, and Freiburg has a Plusenergy House that aims to achieve the world's best energy values for buildings. Furthermore, Berlin has a wealth of green hotspots, including vegan restaurants and alternative events within the city's urban oasis. While the north-German city of Celle recently received certification as a sustainable destination for its eco-friendly activities and practises, the Black Forest near Deidesheim has long been known as a centre for regional food products and handcrafted goods.

Germany Keen to Position Itself as Top Destination for Indians
According to Romit Theophilus, Director of the German National Tourist Office, Germany will continue to be one of Indians' top travel destinations due to its convenient accessibility and tourist attractions that can satisfy all travel preferences. He explained that to promote Germany as a responsible and sustainable tourism destination, the focus for the Indian market will be on raising awareness and providing eco-friendly and sustainable things to do.

Theophilus added that Germany's 'Feel Good' campaign offers the right advice and tips to enjoy sustainability on the move in the country. Not only can travellers reduce their ecological footprint, but they can also calculate their carbon emissions through a CO2 calculator, ensuring their trip is climate neutral.
