One of the most sought after literature festivals in the country, the Jaipur Literature Festival will be back on ground in 2022. After a Covid induced halt, the literary festival is back, with a stellar line up talking about books, themes, subjects, and ideas representing literature and thoughts intrinsic to both India and the world, for the upcoming edition. 

The festival will take place in a hybrid mode &mdash both online, from January 28th to February 6th, and offline from January 28th to February 1st. The 2022 edition will cover themes ranging from the arts, biographies, business & economics, climate change, current affairs, food, poetry, science & technology, Artificial Intelligence, and the writing process, etc. We recently attended the Delhi Curtain Raiser and here is a list of ten sessions and speakers that you need to lookout for this edition 

Abdulrazak Gurnah Gurnah won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2021&nbspand is&nbspcelebrated as one of Africa&rsquos greatest living writers. His novel&nbspAfterlives&nbspexamines the brutality of German colonial forces in East Africa and the lives of&nbspTanganyikans&nbspimpacted by devastating war.  

Abhijit V Banerjee The Nobel Laureate&nbspwill be in conversation artist and illustrator&nbspCheyenne Olivier. This session will explore a totally&nbspdifferent&nbspdimension of the economist donning the cap of a gourmet chef.&nbspDiscussing his&nbspdelicious cookbook&nbspCooking To Save Your Life,&nbspBanerjee will take the audience through the recipes he has delighted his friends, colleagues, and students with.&nbspHe&nbspwill speak about bonds of food and memory, friendship and community, across cultures and continents. 

Damon Galgut The 2021 Booker Prize winning author&nbspwill discuss his writing style, process, inspirations, and the essence of his latest work&nbspThe Promise. Galgut is a master of the knot, the stubborn rope which chafes and binds people to places, politics, prophets and the past.

Indra Nooyi The Indian-American&nbspbusinesswoman and&nbspformer CEO of PepsiCo&rsquos&nbspmemoir,&nbspMy Life in Full Work, Family, and Our Future, follows her journey of grit and determination as she broke through several glass ceilings and the barriers of gender and race to become a global business leader. In conversation with author&nbspAparna Piramal Raje, Nooyi will discuss her life, her trailblazing philosophy of 'Performance with Purpose' and the importance of a care infrastructure that benefits both women and men. 

Seema Goswami and Neena Gupta The town women&nbspwill discuss the backstories behind the glamorous facade, the ups and downs, the triumphs and heartbreaks that Gupta has&nbspmanoeuvred&nbspin her extraordinary life. In Gupta&rsquos candid autobiography,&nbspSach Kahun Toh, she chronicles her extraordinary journey, both personal and professional, deconstructing Bollywood to tell her version of the realities behind the star-studded screen. 

Kim Stanley Robinson&nbspand Raghu Karnad The science-fiction author&nbspwill&nbspshare his vision of the not-too-distant future. Beginning with a deadly human-induced heatwave in India, his recent cli-fi novel,&nbspThe Ministry for the Future, is a roadmap on which life on&nbspEarth can survive.  

Manu S. Pillai&nbspand Dr. Shashi Tharoor The two renowned names&nbspwill get into a conversation with&nbspauthorâÂÂÂ&macrIra Mukhoty. Pillai disputes a longstanding view in his seamless new book,&nbspFalse Allies India&rsquos Maharajahs in the Age of Ravi Varma. On the other hand, Tharoor will shred light upon his most recent book,&nbspThe Struggle for India&rsquos Soul Nationalism and the Fate of Democracy. Tishani Doshi Doshi&rsquos,&nbspA God at the Door, is a voyage across time and space, drawing from nature and humanity to give power to the marginalised, heal trauma with beauty, and portray&nbspdiverse voices, images, people and places with piercing clarity. She will discuss her extraordinary book of poems. 

Remo Fernandes&nbspand Sanjoy K Roy An icon for a generation of music-lovers Fernandes, will discuss his life in pursuit of his greatest loves music, art, writing and his homeland, Goa.
