The wait is finally over. Travellers to East Africa now have all the more reasons to rejoice. After nearly two decades of holdup, the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) led by GVK has restarted flights from Mumbai to Dar es Salaam. In light of the recent happenings in the aviation sector, this news comes as a breath of fresh air, giving travellers a great opportunity to explore Dar es Salaam. Air Tanzania is currently providing direct flights along this route and welcomed 147 passengers on board. The first flight, a Boeing 787-8, took off on July 18, 2019. This is the airlines’ first commercial flight to India. The duration of the journey is approximately 7.5 hours.
These direct, non stop flights between India and Tanzania, will boost trade and tourism between the two countries. Indian citizens travelling to Tanzania have the option of either getting their Visa in advance by applying online or through the Tanzanian High Commission in New Delhi or they can also avail the ‘Visa on Arrival’ facility.

It displays a rich mix of architectural styles incorporating British, German and other Asian traditions. Tanzania also boasts of a rich array of wildlife and its national parks are home to elephants, lions, leopards and others that would interest the travellers.
