Raffles Singapore is one of the most recognisable luxury properties on the island nation’s culturally-rich Beach Road. The heritage hotel has just concluded a three-phase restoration effort that began in 2017, and opened its doors in time for Singapore’s National Day on August 9.

For an overview on what’s new, as well as classics that have received a new lease of life, you can read our story from last week. But if you’re short on time, here’s a quick visual tour:

Suites and Hotel Mood

The Palm Court is an urban sanctuary for those staying in the 35 suites in the Palm Court wing. Located next to the Main Building, it’s an emerald gem that helps guests cut through the fast pace of Singapore.

The Grand Lobby is a study in elegance—floor-to-ceiling pillars from the Victorian era and a mighty chandelier greets guests as they step in. The skylight offers a gentle stream of sunshine.

The Verandah Corridor is a sleek walkway done up in dark wood and neutral tones.

View of the king-sized bedroom in one of the hotel’s five Residence Suites. Each of these suites—Alhambra, Diamond, Marlborough, Theatre Royal and Odeon—are named after famous ‘local cinemas from the early to mid-1900s’.

The former Jubilee Hall theatre has been replaced by the stunning Jubilee Ballroom. The stunning 300-seater space is done up in refined shades of cream and gold, chic Venetian lighting and dazzling chandeliers.

The Lawn is a tranquil backdrop for weddings and similar large-scale events.

The Tiffin Room has been a Raffles mainstay since 1892. As the name suggests, it offers sumptuous North Indian cuisine in home-style tiffin carriers. It also features table-side service by chefs. The interior décor now includes reinstated wooden floorboards as an ode to the early 1900s.

The rooftop swimming pool.

The Raffles Boutique is part of the refreshed Raffles Arcade; the latter is now home to a dedicated History Gallery that shines light on the hotel’s heritage, and a new Raffles Spa.

Scones, swiss rolls, sandwiches and champagne—-part of the delightful Afternoon Tea spread at the Grand Lobby.
