With only less than a week remaining to welcome 2023, it is time to start planning for everything you want to experience and do in the coming year. Luckily, there&rsquos a lot to look forward to in January for literature aficionados, music lovers and adventure buffs. To make it easier for you to plan your month, we&rsquove made a list of all the fun events and festivals being held next month that you should watch out for 

Lollapalooza Music Festival 

The world&rsquos largest music festival is set to debut in India on January 28 and 29 at Mahalaxmi Race Course, Mumbai. The festival has put together a stellar line-up of international musical artists such as The Strokes, Imagine Dragons, and Japanese Breakfast, among others. Famous Indian indie artists such as Prateek Kuhad, F16 and Yellow Diary will also be performing in the festival.

Jaipur Literature Festival 

India&rsquos most awaited literary event, Jaipur Literature Festival, is all set to welcome bibliophiles worldwide to a 5-day revelry from January 19 to 23 at Hotel Clarks Amer. This year, the festival will host many celebrated authors, including Shehan Karunatilaka, whose book, &ldquoSeven Moons of Maali Almeida,&rdquo was awarded the Booker Prize in 2022. Apart from many other literary greats, several activists, thinkers, scholars, and musicians will also be gracing the event.

Bikaner Camel Festival 

Head to Bikaner on January 12 and 13 for a never-seen-before experience as the whole city colours itself in celebration of &ldquothe ship of the desert.&rdquo During these two days, you can witness grand parades and processions, starting from Junagarh fort to Dr Karni Singh Stadium. You can also relish traditional Rajasthani cuisine while enjoying folk music and dance performances.

International Kite Flying Festival 

On January 14 of every year, the day of Uttarayan, you&rsquoll find every inch of Ahmedabad&rsquos sky covered in brightly coloured kites. To pay homage to this traditional celebration unique to Gujarat, the International Kite Flying Festival was inaugurated in 1989. Since then, the festival has only become bigger and better, with many international master kite makers and flyers attending the event. This year, the four-day event, held from January 8 to 14, will host kite makers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Croatia and many other countries.

Manali Winter Carnival 

If you want to experience traditional Himachali culture through dance, music and food, then make sure to attend the Manali Winter Carnival, being held from January 2 to 6. During these four days, you can witness interesting street plays, magic shows, folk dance performances, and fashion shows across popular locations such as Mall Road and participate in winter sports like skiing and snowboarding.
