When it comes to the culinary scene, Delhi has options aplenty. But there are only a few that hit the right spot. And joining that list is Sly Granny’s latest outpost in Select City Walk, Saket. Perfect for a brunch under the warm winter sun, they also have a special Breaking Brunch menu in place, with scrumptious dishes and flavoursome cocktails.
Exuding a very chic-cum-modern vibe, the cafe boasts a chess-patterned floor, brightly motif walls and a very warm winter vibe. While newbies definitely have hand-tossedd pizzas with gracious toppings and Asian bowls to look forward to, patrons can relish their traditional fish and chips combo, amid other things.
We had the chance to visit their latest mall outpost one afternoon and here are our top 5 picks that you should definitely get your hands on:
Mezze Platter and Crispy Chicken
There are very few who can go wrong with a mezze platter. But there are also very few who can hit the topnotch level with it. And trust us, we count Sly’s platter in the latter category. With pita bread, falafel, lentil tuile and a whole range of delicious dips—including the finger licking hummus—it makes for a great starter. We also paired this with the crispy chicken and fries combo. Tender, well-cooked and crispy, along with the right mix of spices make it the right choice.
Chicken A La Kiev
If you are a non-vegetarian, the Chicken A La Kiev is the star dish. Also the highlight of the afternoon, it comes with stuffed chicken breast with a side of mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. The chicken was perfectly cooked with juicy flavours, while the mashed potatoes were tender and fluffy. And we’re definitely not complaining about the side of greens.
Aglio E Olio
Vegetarians need not be disappointed. Since the good ol’ Aglio E Olio was up next. Cheesy, spicy and extremely buttery, we 12/10 recommend this pasta heaven. And this one comes with a twist—broccoli and asparagus. We’d like to think of it as our dose of healthy here.
No meal ends without a heavenly dessert (we didn’t make the rules). And Sly Granny had just that in store for us with their brownie cheesecake. As out-of-the-box as it may sound, it was exactly that. One of the firsts we’d had, we sure were not disappointed. The softness—of both, the brownie and the cheesecake—complemented each other well, without being over the top sweet. If you’re open to culinary experiments, then this one should be your go-to dish.
Sly Granny’s expansive spread of cocktails is just another feather in their hat. Concoctions based on personal style, your current mood, or even if you’re willing to experiment to something new, they have all in place. We highly recommend their Dare to Peach, a gin-based cocktail with the right amount of sweet.
