Well, who doesn’t like to splurge a bit on a fancy meal now and then? Be it a meal under the stars or an underwater dining experience, restaurants have gone out of their way to create some of the most outrageously expensive culinary experiences. However the idea of what’s expensive and what’s not seems to be highly debatable. While for some a gourmet lobster makes the cut, for others, anything topped with edible gold that is sure to set them back by a few thousand bucks is what fits the bill. Here's a round up of what some of the most wallet draining dishes from around the world look like.

We bet there isn't a better way to start your day in New York City than bagels. And almost every New Yorker has a go to bagel place. Be it toasted, cream cheese or with bacon, NYC is so deeply invested in the bagel culture that most Saturdays mornings are incomplete without it. However this landmark food in Westin hotel costs nearly $1,000! Smeared with white truffle cream cheese and topped with gold flakes, this bedazzled bagel was last available in 2017. There have been incessant requests ever since to reintroduce the dish in all its glory.

White Truffle and Gold Pizza

They say problems come and go but pizza is forever. Well, we couldn't agree more. It might sound a little 'cheesy' (pun intended) but for most of us, pizza is the one true love that keeps us going. But would you shell out $2,420 for the same? Margo’s in Malta is serving this high end comfort food and has made its mark in the Guinness Book of World Records. The gourmet pizza consists of a thin-crust base with buffalo mozzarella, white truffles, and sprinkled with 24-carat edible gold leaf. Marked at a price of $250 per slice, this pizza party is going to be a 'lavish’ one to say the least.

Lobster is money. There's no denying the fact that it's delicious, but this sea food sure costs an arm and a leg. Be it lobster roll or lobster tail, it's definitely meant for special occasions. Well Norma's in NYC has figured a way to make it a tad bit more fancy by featuring it in the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata. Believed to be the world's most expensive omelette at $2,750, it's made with six eggs, 10 ounces of exclusive sevruga caviar (it costs the restaurant $65 per ounce), an entire lobster, cream and chives. One can also enjoy a smaller version of the dish that costs $100.

‘The land of billionaires.’ There isn’t a better way to describe Dubai, one of the wealthiest countries in the world. So it comes as no surprise that it’s also home to the most expensive scoop of ice cream ever. The Black Diamond treat at Scoopi Cafe is a decadent scoop of Madagascar vanilla ice cream topped with vanilla truffles, Iranian saffron, and edible 23-karat gold flakes. Served in a Versace bowl with a Versace spoon, just a scoop of this concoction costs a whopping $817. Certain reports state that so far only two Black Diamonds have been sold.

Samundari Khazana

It’s a bit ironic that the world’s most expensive curry is not served in India, but at an Indian restaurant in the UK. London’s Bombay Brasserie is credited with serving the ‘Samundari Khazaana’, a seafood curry loaded with edible gold, devon crab, white truffle, and beluga caviar-filled quail eggs. A blend of the finest Indian herbs and spices, this culinary luxury, requires you to shell out nearly £2,000.
Fun Fact: The restaurant boasts of having served a wide array of celebrity guests including Nicole Kidman, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Russell and Woody Allen.
