The Busanga Plain of Zambia’s Kafue National Park is said to be one of the best places to observe African lions. It’s also home to a variety of antelopes, as well as hippos. Get a bird’s eye view of the sweeping landscape and its fauna animals from a hot air balloon ride offered by Wilderness Safaris (wilderness-safaris.com), which runs three camps in Kafue. On till the end of October, the balloon safaris are usually conducted at dawn and ends with a champagne breakfast. They also arrange day and night safaris in open vehicles. Their Busanga Bush Camp (packages from $799 per person per night) and the luxurious Shumba Camp (from $1066 per person per night) consist of well-appointed en suite tents located within tree-islands.
