Chanderi Fort

The Chanderi Fort, also known as Kirti Drug, sits atop a hill and is an important monument of the city. Built in 10th and 11th century by Raja Kirti Pal, the fort, being equidistant from Delhi and Malwa, was significant for any ruler wanting to expand their kingdom to either place. It is a point to note that the fort bore the brunt of Babur's invasion in 1528. When visiting the fort complex do not miss the Khilji Mosque and Naukhanda Palace.
