Upon helping himself with beer and food from the kitchen cabinet, a burglar identified as 33-year-old Antoni Adams, reportedly told the owner of the place that it is not her house.

I have been here all day, this is not your house, said Adams to the owner of the property in the UK as she returned to her house and questioned him.

The police were able to track Adams as he opened a can of beer and his DNA was present all over it. The cops were eventually able to get hold of Adams whereby he admitted to robbing the house and was sentenced to 876 days in prison.

I had forced opened the lock of the door and also damaged a table in the living room after breaking in, admitted Adams. I had filled handbags and purses with items he found inside the house, including a deep fat fryer, he added.

"This is an incredibly intrusive crime and it must have been awful for the victim to return home and catch an intruder red-handed inside her flat", said  Detective Chief Inspector Michelle Robson, of Northumbria Police before the sentencing.

"Unfortunately for Adams, in his desperation to get away after being disturbed, he left behind an empty can of Foster's that he had swiped from the fridge and drunk. That allowed our brilliant forensic team to do what they do best - and it was only a matter of time before we could prove Adams' involvement irrefutably", added Robson.
