‘Womanizer & Comfortable With It’: Footwear Firm Bata Apologises For Sexist Ad In Pakistan

Footwear firm Bata has been forced to apologise for a ‘sexist’ poster it displayed at a mall in Pakistan.

“Womanizer & Comfortable With It” read the caption of the poster that depicted a man with an elegant look. The poster was put up put up at Packages Mall, Lahore.

It created a furore on social media with many even asking to boycott Bata footwears unless the company withdrew the ad and apologized.

“Do you even think Pakistan is Thailand or Bangkok?” someone asked on Twitter.

Terming the company's apology 'Silly',  a person also twitted saying, "The apology is even sillier than the the picture!"

Following the social media outrage, the company was forced to remove the controversial caption from the ad. It also issued an apology. “Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced in respect to the poster which was printed out of Pakistan and inadvertently displayed at our Packages Mall outlet,” read a statement from the company.
