The wife of a google techie committed suicide on the day of their anniversery, accusing her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment in her suicide letter.

In her suicide note recovered from the site, Bhagyalakshmi, an employee at Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD) had written, “He should not be allowed to touch my body or belongings. They bribed the police not to take action. Sorry mommy, daddy, Shiva,”  Bhagyalakshmi had earlier lodged a complaint at the Begumpet Women's Police Station alleging that her husband had threatened to put her nude photographs online if she did not pay additional dowry, said a report in the Deccan Chronicle.

Bhagyalakshmi and her husband Shashidhar got married a year ago after being in a relationship that lasted five years. Sashidhar's parents, however, opposed the marriage as Bhagyalakshmi was older than him and belonged to a different caste, the report further added.

Quoting the victim's family who alleged Shashidhar to be an alcoholic, the report said that Shashidhar used to abuse her after getting drunk. He had shot a few intimate videos and photographs using his phone and started blackmailing her.
