Guwahati is all set to give a unique welcome to 2018 Asian Games triple medallist Hima Das on her return to Assam on Friday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jalukbari, Guwahati City, Ponjit Dowarah has put out a picture of the red carpet waiting for Hima at the Guwahati Airport.
The carpet is designed with track markings on it.
This is the first time the 18-year-old is returning to her home state after taking part in the Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang.
Quoting local media, The Indian Express reported that Das will be welcomed by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the airport.

She will then head to Sarusujai Stadium. She will also have stop over at the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra Memorial.
She will have a felicitation at the Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra in the evening, says the report.
Das clinched gold medal in the Women’s 4x400m Relay event. She secured silver in Women's 400m smashing Indian record. She also won another siver in the Mixed Team 4x400m Relay event.
She arrived in New Delhi alongwith the other members of the Indian contingent and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Wednesday
