Do you want to help survivors and don’t know how? You could make adifference with funds, material supply such as ration, medicines, blankets,utensils, shelter material, by offering medical care and assistance andvolunteering to work in the camps in the affected areas. Any information onmissing persons could also be invaluable. Here is a listing of who’s doingwhat and how to contact them.

NATIONAL DISASTER FUND

  • The Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund
    For information and donation online contact www.pmindia.nic.in/relief.htm Citibank has set up a special payment gateway to enable online contributions. Contributions can now be made from all Visa/MasterCard/Diner's cards, domestic or international. All transactions via the Citibank gateway are exempt of merchant discount fees. The gateway can be accessed via a link on www.pmindia.nic.in, www.sify.com and on the Citibank consumer portal www.citibank.com/india.

AID AGENCIES
They are delivering food, medical and shelter supplies. You could help withall of this and/or funds. Remember, any voluntary assistance, help in locatingmissing people and technical expertise is also welcome.

    They are creating a volunteer cadre (including nurses & doctors) to visit the affected areas, are arranging for medicines, food and temporary shelters, offering psycho-social counseling for the traumatized, focused at women and children, creating shelters and structures for the victims, helping victims get the promised grants, from the government, arranging alternate livelihood opportunities for the affected and long term rehabilitation, creating permanent shelters and homes, schools and dispensary.
