However, Greene's marriage was far from being happy. According to the report, she fled back to the US after a few weeks, deeply regretting her choice and was immediately arrested following her return.
Greene had "violated the public trust, the trust of the officials who granted her security clearance, and the trust of those with whom she worked and, in doing so, endangered our nation's security.", the report quoted Assistant US Attorney Thomas Gillice as saying.
