"Yesterday I had given my answer to some questions even though I hadfelt those were not relevant. But media reported that in a differentcontext", he countered.

He was visibly upset yesterday when the commission's counsel wanted to knowthe reasons for VHP holding a shila pujan programme in 1989 and wanted toknow if it was in the line of consecration ceremony of the Somnath temple in1951.

Advani had claimed that while Ayodhya movement was a mass movement, theconsecration ceremony at Somnathwas done at the behest of the central governmentfor which earth and waters were collected from different countries through theirrespective embassies.

When Gupta wanted to draw his attention to the fact that the then premier JawaharlalNehru was opposed to it, Advani had shot back that he was aware of that but didnot want to comment on Nehru before the commission, as it was not the rightforum.
