The Supreme Court today refused to entertain the plea of a Bengaluru woman claiming to be daughter of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The court has, however, said that she can approach the High Court in this regard.

The 37-year-old Bengaluru woman, Amrutha alias Manjula had claimed to be the biological daughter of Jayalalitha and had also agreed for a DNA test to vindicate her claims.

She had claimed that whenever she tried meeting Jayalalitha, her efforts went in vain as Jayalalithaa’s then aide Sasikala prevented her from it. She was not even allowed to attend her burial ceremony.

She said that she had written letters to President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi , the CBI and the judges of the apex court but didn't get any response. Hence it is said that she is seeking help from the court to provide her with justice. She explained her relationship by saying that her adoptive mother Shylaja died in 2015 and her father Srathy died on March 20 , 2017.
