The head coach of the Indian national team, Ravi Shastri is a man of 'choicest' words. He also knows how to offend people. That's an art few have mastered. Remember what he had said during India's tour of Australia last year. But on Tuesday, he nailed it.

After India's thumping win over South Africa in the third and final Test match at Ranchi on Tuesday, Shastri hit the airwaves with a boisterous statement, which actually bordered on trash talking.

The former India all-rounder said: "Pitch ko nikalo game se. Bhaad me gaya pitch (which can be translated as 'take the equation of pitch out of the game. To hell with the pitches')."

He then mentioned cricketing venues from everywhere -- Johannesburg, Auckland, Mumbai, Melbourne, etc. -- to drive home his point that India can win matches on any surface by taking 20 wickets.

Well, India just did that on a truly sporting pitch at Ranchi, and for the second successive match to whitewash the number three ranked side in the world.

Being the man in charge of a national team, many will take offence to his over the top attempt to justify the Indian cricket team's abilities.

But this time, he won the hearts of fans.
