Amid coronavirus lockdown, Swiss legend Roger Federer has come out with a new challenge for his fans and rivals sports stars, including Indian national cricket team captain Virat Kohli.

Federer, 38, has been exploring new ways to embrace tennis at home, and has found a fun method at the wall where he'd previously put on a trick-shot show on ice.

With the ATP Tour suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 20-time grand slam champion looked to engage fans on social media.

In a video posted on social media platforms, Federer – wearing a Panama hat – volleyed a ball repeatedly against a wall at close range, and asked others to do likewise.

"Here's a helpful solo drill. Let's see what you got!" the Swiss great wrote.

"Reply back with a video and I'll provide some tips. Choose your hat wisely #tennisathome."

Many fans took up the challenge, with Federer replying to several efforts.

Federer tagged Kohli, along with a host of global stars like Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, Coco Gauff, Cristiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Bill Gates, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Coldplay, Chris Hemsworth, Lewis Hamilton, David Beckham, Lionel Messi, etc in his post.

The 20 Grand Slam champion previously had posted clips of himself hitting against a wall in the snow, including around-the-back or through-the-leg-tweener trick shots.
