New Zealand were in complete command of the first Test against India with a comprehensive first-innings lead of 183 at lunch on the third day (Sunday) with debutant Kyle Jamieson and No 11 Trent Boult belting the bowlers for fun.

New Zealand scored 348 in their first innings as Ishant Sharma (5/68 in 22.2 overs) remained the stand-out bowler for India.
