As many as 346 cricketers will go under the hammer at the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auction.

Unlike the previous auctions, this time, it will be a single day affair. Then, there is also a new auctioneer, Hugh Edmeades. He replaced the very popular Richard Madley.

Players:

The 346 players will be sorted into three groups – batsman, bowler and all-rounder.

How will it happen?

It's simple. The auctioneer will call out player's name and teams will start raising their team paddles to bid for the player. The team with the highest bid will get the player.

In case, no team raises the paddle for a considerable period of time for a player, the player will go unsold.

The unsold players will then go back into the pot. They can be bought later on in the day.
