Playing in his 100th T20I match for India, the 32-year-old from Nagpur toyed with Bangladesh bowlers, hitting six fours and six sixes. He reached the fifty in just 23 balls, with a six off Afif Hossain. This was his joint-fastest fifty, after 22-ball half-century against the West Indies at Lauderhill in 2016.

In the process, he also completed 2000 international runs this calendar year. He was also involved in a record fourth 100-run opening stand with Shikhar Dhawan. He now has 2537 runs in the shortest format of the game in 100 matches with four centuries and 17 fifties.

Second in the list is Virat Kohli, who has 2450 runs from 72 matches with the help of 22 fifties.

It was also Rohit's fifth fifty in ten innings against Bangladesh.

Chasing a target of 154 runs, India reached the target in 15.3 to register a convincing eight-wicket win to level the three-match series 1-1.

Bangladesh won the first match by seven wickets. In that match, Rohit surpassed MS Dhoni to become the most capped Indian player in men's cricket. And tonight, he joined Harmanpreet Kaur to become the second Indian to achieve play hundred T20Is.

Rohit made his T20I debut against England during the World T20 in 2007. He is now second on the overall list of most capped T20I players, only behind Pakistan's Shoaib Malik (111).
