Persistent rain ensured that no play was possible on the final day of the first Test with the match ending in draw at Trent Bridge on Sunday. India would have resumed from their overnight score of 52 for one, needing another 157 to take a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series but rain forced the play to be called off.  India's batting would have been tested for sure after it lost first innings hero KL Rahul cheaply in the second innings. But the way Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma negotiated the  last few overs of the 4th day, it raised hopes of an Indian win. A Test win on the back of Neeraj Chopra's golden finish at Tokyo Olympics would have been a tremendous achievement. In the end, rain ensured that both England and India go to the second Test match at Lord's with honours even. Catch the highlights  of England vs India, 1st Test match at Trent Bridge.
