Veteran Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns suffered a career-threatening injury during their National Football League Wild Card game against Seattle Seahawks at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas on Sunday.

The 27-year-old, while starting a second drive after taking a third-down catch, landed awkwardly on a tackle from Seahawks' Bradley McDougald.

With a twisted left ankle, Hurns was left writhing in pain. He has been subsequently carried off the field.

The winners will step closer to winning the 2019 Super Bowl. Seahawks entered the game having won six of their last seven outings, while Cowboys have won all but one of their last eight.
