On Thursday, Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad allegedly hit an Air India employee with his slipper after not getting a business class seat.

The incident took place at the New Delhi international airport moments after the plane landed from Pune around11 am.

Speaking to ANI, the MP said he wanted a ticket for business class but Air India provided him economy class.

Expressing no regret on his act, the Shiv Sena MP said, "Yes I hit him 25 times, because he misbehaved with me. I had paid for a business class ticket. This is not the first time it has happened.”

“I have complained several times but no action has been taken. So this time I lost my cool,” he said.

Responding to the incident, Air India said that it has  constituted a team to probe the whole incident.

Gaikwad represents the Osmanabad constituency of Maharashtra.
