A special police officer (SPO), who was abducted by militants from his residence in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, has returned home, police said on Sunday.
SPO Mudasir Ahmad Lone was abducted by militants from his house at Chainattar village in south Kashmir's Tral area on Friday night, a police officer said.
Hareefa, mother of the SPO had addressed media at her home at Chan Kitar, Tral on Saturday. “He is my only son. He was supposed to announce during Friday prayers that he was quitting police job but some work held him back,” she said, according to a report in Greater Kashmir

“You are also my own children. I request you to kindly set him free and he will quit the job and apologise for all his mistakes. If you hear any complaint in future you can kill us all,” she appealed passionately with her folded hands and even broke down during the appeal.
Lone was released by the militants a few hours later and returned home on Saturday night.
Lone, a resident of Pulwama district, was on leave at his home when three militants abducted him on Friday.
He was posted at the Reshipora police post in Awantipora as a cook.
