The Delhi police have busted an all-women gang of thieves who targeted more than 100 lavish weddings in Delhi and National Capital Region.

Three women, who are the prime accusedhail from Rajgarh of Madhya Pradesh. An auto-driver, who used to pick and drop the gang at venues, was also arrested, reports The Hindu.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said the gang targeted high-profile weddings at banquet halls, farmhouses and hotels—the most recent theft was in Hotel Lalit on Barakhamba Road.

The gang along with the auto driver were nabbed from Ashok Vihar when they were escaping after striking at a wedding. Cash worth Rs32,000, new branded clothes and accessories purchased especially for weddings were recovered from them.

According to a Hindustan Times report, after analysing CCTV footage of different locations and wedding venues, a team of crime branch got some crucial evidence.

They found that the thieves avoided photographers and videographers to not get caught on cameras. They used to mingle with the guests quite conveniently which made things easy for them to execute the crime.
