After a shocking repeat of murder by cow vigilantes in the state, Rajasthan state home minister Gulab Chand Kataria on Monday said that "there is not enough manpower to control every situation in all cities in time."
While addressing the media on the details of the case, Kataria said that though it is tough to determine "what is actually the case, strict action would be taken against the culprit irrespective of their religion," reported NDTV.
"Strict action would be taken against the culprit, even if he is a Hindu," he told media while responding to the Alwar lynching incident.
"The body has been sent for the post-mortem. A case has been registered. One suspect has been taken into the person. According to the preliminary report, the involvement of four or five person can also be possible. We will take strict action against the culprit, be it Hindu or Muslim," Kataria told ANI.

The minister also informed that one person has been arrested, adding five others could also be involved in the incident.
The People's Union for Civil Liberties in Rajasthan has however alleged that Khan's death was caused by a police bullet. "It was a bullet of the Ramgarh police that killed 35-year-old Umar Mohammed during a joint operation with the cow vigilantes on Friday," PUCL said in a statement today.
"PUCL condemns the ghastly murder of Umar Mohammed by the Ramgarh thana (Alwar) police and Gau Rakshaks at Ghatmatika Pahadi near Bharatpur," said a joint letter signed by the PUCL president Kavita Srivastava and four others.

A Muslim man-- Ummar (32)-- was shot dead allegedly by cow vigilantes near Govindh Gadh in Alwar district of Rajasthan when he was transporting cows, while his aide has been admitted to a private hospital after being badly beaten up.
The incident took place near Rajasthan-Haryana on November 10 when the two men – Ummar Khan and Tahir Khan – were transporting the cows to Haryana when they were waylaid by the mob and assaulted. Umar died of a bullet wound. His body was kept in a mortuary.
This is second such incident in Alwar in past seven months. In April, a 55-year-old dairy farmer, Pehlu Khan, from Haryana was beaten to death allegedly by cow vigilantes.
